Two summers ago our daughter, Thea Brooks, wrote and produced a short movie that was filmed around the Upper Valley, including various venues around Lake Morey. The film, The Ill-Made Knight tells the story of Ella, a 3rd grader whose family’s backyard forest is being clear cut by a logging enterprise. This compelling story tells of this young girl’s passion for her woods, her battle to save them, and her inspiration by her reading of The Once and Future King, from which the name of the film is taken.
Thea has had many acting roles, including a short film that won a prize at the Sundance Film Festival. Her next role is as Ariel in Shakespeare’s The Tempest at the Stonington Opera House in Deer Isle, Maine.
The film will be shown at the Main Street Museum on 58 Bridge St., White River Junction, June 3 from 3:30 to 4:30 with discussion. See info.wrif.org for more information including tickets.
